Case Study: Electrical and AV Installation for a Barn Conversion-style New Build in Bishops Stortford
We were thrilled to take on a new project that involved providing electrical and AV installation for a new build in Bishops Stortford. The client wanted to create a property that would look like a barn conversion and would serve as a base for their fitness industry business, including online personal training and content creation. The new build was divided into six sections, including a gym, kitchen, lounge, play area, bedroom, and outdoor entertaining space. Electrical and AV Installation
We began the project by supplying single phase power to the property via a submain from the existing house. To ensure the safety of the property, we installed a brand new consumer unit incorporating SPD and RCBO protection to all circuits. SPD protects electrical equipment from voltage spikes, while RCBO protects against both earth leakage and overcurrent.
We installed LED lighting throughout the property, using Collingwood H2 Lite downlights for a sleek and modern look. The downlights were complemented by elegant chandeliers, which added a touch of glamour to the property. To create a relaxing atmosphere in the bar area, we installed LED strip lighting, and we also installed external lighting to the front facade and patio, supplied by GAP lighting.
For the small power, we installed polished chrome screwless sockets made by Heritage Brass. Many of the socket outlets have USB capabilities built in to them, which made charging devices convenient for the client.
To cater to our client's needs for filming, we installed a 3-zone sound system using Yamaha WXA-50 wireless amps that have built-in works with Alexa capabilities. We also mounted Monitor Audio speakers both internally and externally for optimal sound quality.
